On the 29th of April a small group of students from Year 10 embarked on a seven hour tramp to Totara Flats Hut for their Duke of Edinburgh award. "The tramp tested all our skills and gave us a taste of what it is like to travel through tough terrain. On the 30th we traveled out in just under seven hours and came across challenges such as steep climbs and sinking mud. But we overcame these challenges as a team and made it safely out. We also learnt some variable lessons about navigation and safety that we could use on future journeys. " Trent Burrows | |
