Working in teams of four, without calculators, students had to crack tricky questions like "Write the number 4376 as the product of prime numbers", " What is 100 metres run in 9.86 seconds translated to kilmetres per hour?" and "How long would it take to count to a million if you counted once every second?".*
Employing a careful balance between educated guesses and 'working it out the long way', the team of top Year 9s finished their 20 questions one question ahead of the Year 10s. Well done to all involved, and we wish you well for your regional competition next term.
