Filmed and edited by Year 10 Luana, during Activities week.
![]() Monday this week we celebrated, the christian character, service, and growth of our students at our annual Prize Giving and end of year Celebration. Musicians played, Carols were sung, and the schools Maori and Pacifica students performed. Naphtali Tribe were awarded the Athletics Shield in the competitive tribe competition before next year's tribe leaders were announced. Jessica Good and Jarryd Burrows were awarded Head Students for 2017, while Caitlyn Brown, the current Head Girl, was awarded the supreme academic excellence trophy. Ultimately, the night was really about celebrating the growth and achievements of all of our students, and the special character that makes Cornerstone unique. ![]() Rafting rapids, grass burn at a farm, getting shocked, mannequin challenges, wrapping presents, hydroslides and Mr Black's water bombs will be the lasting memories of Activities Week. Students represented the school well, with one experienced guide saying they were among the best behaved... and loudest group she'd had through this year. The week fostered team work, stepping out of your comfort zone, and an attitude of service among the class. For one teacher, the highlight was seeing students signing up to volunteer for the Salvation Army in the school holidays. Another teacher appreciated getting to know students in a different setting. Most students however, simply enjoyed doing learning outside the classroom. |
