For the first time in the Secondary School we have begun an important tradition between Cornerstone Christian School and Hastings Christian School. The annual sports exchange between the two schools was a huge success and stoked the flames of competition between them. The exchange consisted of:
The Cornerstone Senior Choir sung in public for the first time this weekend at the Rotary Music Festival. Performing at Bethany's cafe for the lunch-time traffic, it was neat to see the girls show off their harmonies, performance skills and all the practice. Thanks to Mr Doody for putting this together.
Students braved the cold to sell at the Cloverlea Market for Level 1 Business Studies. The budding entrepreneurs all sold out and were happy with the profit they made on the day!
Cornerstone made two entries into the Smokefree Rockquest regional heats this year, with a very promising third band having to pull out late. Singing their own personal compositions, Bailey (solo), as well as Namory and Ethan (duo) represented the school well. Both groups will next perform in the regional finals, Friday 2nd June at the Regent Theatre. Bailey was also quoted in the Rockquest Article on Stuff.co.nz.
