Our biennial fundraising event was a happy success. With hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of people passing through the school gates, It was a great coming together of the Cornerstone Community. Final counts have yet to come in, but we raised over $24,000 on the day. Thanks to all our volunteers for their help. | |
Our student leaders spent two days with senior management in Omori discussing leadership, participating in team challenges, planning tribe events, and having fun. It was an amazing time with a great bunch of young people. We had an excellent assembly drama on the book of Luke today, run by Mr Jackson's life lab. Well done to Jess for sharing her heart, and her class for making the gospel entertaining and memorable.
Having lead from the very first race, Naphtali tribe won swimming sports by a long margin, leaving the other three tribes to battle out for second place.
The event was held at Makino pool in Feilding for the first time, although heavy rain forced us to largely stay indoors. The room was full of hundreds of chanting, cheering supporters. A diving competition was held demonstrating bravery, skill and precision as students competed for the best technique or simply the biggest splash. Provisional results 1st Naphtali, 2nd Issachar, 3rd Zebulun, 4th Asher. Fantastic morning with our Junior students! Great to see them in their Life Labs having fun. |
